Attorney Oto Ekpo, a partner with Atlanta-based trial law firm Finch McCranie has been selected to serve as a member of the Community Engagement Board for the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence.
As a member of the board, Oto will provide leadership and insight to help the organization build deeper community connections and expand its impact as it works to end domestic and sexual violence.
Oto focuses her law practice on the representation of people catastrophically injured or killed due to the negligence of others. Oto and her colleagues regularly work on high-stakes cases arising from medical malpractice, violent crimes, negligent security, premises liability, and vehicle accidents, among other issues. She recently served as co-counsel in a sex trafficking matter resulting in a historic $40 million jury verdict against a hotel on behalf of a child sex trafficking survivor. Before entering private practice, she served as a prosecutor for 15 years in DeKalb and Fulton counties.
Oto is active in the Atlanta community. She is a member of the Leadership Dekalb Class of 2025, Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, Lawyers Club of Atlanta, DeKalb Lawyers Association, and Executive Board of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She also served as a 2024-2025 Board Member of Junior League DeKalb County. She was elected in 2023 to be a member of the Board of Governors, which controls and administers the affairs of the State Bar.
Oto received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas and her law degree from Emory University School of Law.
