Career Prosecutor Oto Ekpo Named a Partner with Atlanta Law Firm Finch McCranie

Atlanta-based trial law firm Finch McCranie has promoted attorney Otobong “Oto” Ukpong Ekpo to partner with the firm.

Oto joined the firm just over a year ago after serving for 15 years in the public sector as a prosecutor with DeKalb and Fulton counties—where she tried over 100 jury trials involving the most serious crimes, including murder, rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, and vehicular homicide, among others.

Oto represents people catastrophically injured or killed due to the negligence of others in cases arising from medical malpractice, violent crime, negligent security, premises liability, vehicular crashes, and other issues. She recently served as co-counsel in a sex trafficking case resulting in a historic $40-million jury verdict against a hotel on behalf of a child sex trafficking survivor.

Oto is active in the Atlanta community. She is a member of the Leadership Dekalb Class of 2025, Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, Lawyers Club of Atlanta, DeKalb Lawyers Association. She serves as a member of the Community Engagement Board for the Women's Resource Center and on the Executive Board of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She also served as a 2024-2025 Board Member of Junior League DeKalb County and was elected in 2023 to be a member of the Board of Governors, which controls and administers the affairs of the State Bar.

Oto received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas and her law degree from Emory University School of Law.
