Traffic deaths in the United States have reached their highest levels since 1990, according to government statistics cited by the Insurance Journal. This increase was attributed in part to increased deaths from motorcycle and pedestrian accidents. There are a number of reasons for the increase. One possible explanation is the rise in our urban/suburban populations. As these numbers increase, our roads and highways become more crowded. Another possible explanation for the increase in pedestrian injuries and deaths may be related to the dramatic increase in

The employer had put the Florida resident up in an apartment in Fayetteville, Georgia while he was working as a construction superintendent here. The

Psychiatric/Psychological Privilege in Injury Cases in Georgia

Many times we represent clients’ who have been seriously injured in automobile, trucking or on-the-job accidents who have sought and received psychological or psychiatric counseling and treatment. During the course of litigation, insurance company lawyers often try to subpoena mental health records from mental health professionals. It is wise to be vigilant in monitoring these requests from insurance defense lawyers and to object to these requests.
Under Georgia law, “Parties may obtain discovery regarding any matter, not privileged, which is relevant to the subject matter

Mandatory Arbitration in Nursing Home Contracts Opposed

Mandatory arbitration agreements deprive citizens of their right to seek redress in the courts of this country. Many large businesses place these clauses in their consumer agreements as a requirement. It has been consistently shown that the arbitrations which flow from these clauses are skewed in favor of the large corporations. Recently, public pressure has forced many credit card companies to remove these unfair clauses
