{"id":306,"date":"2011-04-08T13:24:33","date_gmt":"2011-04-08T13:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whistleblowerlawyerblog.com\/2011\/04\/first_reported_irs_whistleblow_1.html"},"modified":"2021-06-11T17:46:22","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T21:46:22","slug":"first_reported_irs_whistleblow_1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.finchmccranie.com\/whistleblower-blog\/first_reported_irs_whistleblow_1\/","title":{"rendered":"First Reported IRS Whistleblower Award Is Made&#8211;Finally!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The floodgates may be opening for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whistleblowerlawyerblog.com\/irs_whistleblower_attorneys_co\/\">IRS Whistleblower program for tax whistleblowers<\/a>, which we have written about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whistleblowerlawyerblog.com\/new_irs_whistleblower_reward_s_2\/\">since its birth in late 2006.<\/a>Today, a law firm announced that its client received yesterday a $4.5 million award after filing a Form 211 reporting tax violations by a financial services firm.  <\/p>\n<p>The IRS Whistleblower Office cannot comment, as whistleblower information is protected by section 6103 of the the Internal Revenue Code.
