David Bouchard is an accomplished trial lawyer; jurors, judges, and clients praise his courtroom skills in sophisticated criminal and civil cases.
Since he was a student at NYU School of Law, David has successfully defended individuals accused of crimes in a broad range of cases. His clients have come from all walks of life: from senior executives and public officials to the indigent and the incarcerated. He has effectively represented the accused in state and federal courts, at trial, in sentencing hearings, and on appeal. David's practice is national, and he has handled cases in federal or state courts in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., and Colorado. He has significant experience in cases involving allegations of conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, health care fraud, securities fraud, bribery, public corruption, racketeering, and money laundering, amongst other crimes. David has worked on multiple high-profile criminal cases covered by major media outlets.
In addition, David has represented and advised companies responding to whistleblower complaints and government investigations. As part of that work, he has conducted numerous sensitive internal investigations for major corporations. Further, David has counseled companies on how to develop and improve compliance programs on various issues, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
David's practice also focuses on complex commercial litigation. For the first eight years of his legal career, David worked at an international law firm widely recognized as one of the best in the world. He excelled on major commercial cases for some of the world's largest companies, including more than ten Fortune 500 companies. Those cases raised numerous issues but primarily focused on commercial contract disputes. Through taking the lead on depositions, dispositive motions, evidentiary hearings, and settlement negotiations, David helped his clients save tens of millions of dollars.
In his free time, David is active in the Atlanta community. He is a member of the LEAD Atlanta class of 2017. Additionally, he serves on the Leadership Council for The Posse Foundation and mentors law school students through the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. David has been called upon to lecture on trial advocacy to high school students who participate in mock trial programs.
Prior to attending law school, David received a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship from the United States Department of State. David served in Haiphong, Vietnam.
